Cyclone Trophy Club Rules

  1.  Must show proof of boat insurance. Club members must have copy made.
  2. Tournaments start at 7:00 A.M. and end at 3:00 P.M.  Must be registered by 6:30 A.M. Beginning in May tournaments will start at 6:00 A.M. and end at 2:00 P.M. You must be registered by 5:30 A.M. If you are not registered by the registration time your boat number will be the last to leave, and if more than one is late the boat numbers will be determined by when your entry fee is received.
  3. Rules interpretations: The rules committee shall be solely responsible for the interruption and enforcement of tournament rules. Its decision will be final in all instances.
  4. Eligibility: All participants must be at least 16 years of age (unless accompanied by parent or guardian). Proof of age is the responsibility of participant and will be enforced.
  5. Sportsmanship: All participants are required to comply with the game and fish regulations in effect at each tournament. Alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs will not be allowed in participants boat. All contestants are expected to conduct themselves in a sportsman-like manner at all times.
  6. Tackle: A participant may only use one rod at a time. Not trolling or live bait.
  7. Boat & Motors: There shall be no restriction on the size or type of boat used or the size of motor with the stipulation that all boats are judged seaworthy by the tournament committee and must have at least one aerated live well. Your boat must be coast guard approved.
  8. Scoring: Tournament scores will be based on the total weight in pounds caught by both contestants. Daily limits will be 6 bass per team per club tournament and 6 bass per team per open tournaments. Only largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass may be weighed in. At no time during the tournament shall there be more than the limit of bass in the live well. You must cull as soon as a bass is caught over the limit. If more than the legal limit is found in possession, you will be disqualified. If any bass that is presented at the weigh-in has been mashed, mauled, or mangled that bass will not be accepted at the weigh-in. If you bring in a short fish, that fish and your biggest fish will be thrown out. You may ask for a courtesy measurement prior to weighing your fish. If smaller creel limits or changes in size limits are in effect, it will be announced at the tournament. There will be no dead fish allowed. A 10" size limit is set. If more than the legal limit of fish are brought to the weigh in, the entire bag will be DISQUALIFIED!
  9. Fishing locations: All fishing must be done from the boat. Contestants must not leave the boat to land fish. Cutoff at Bluestone tournaments: the first campground on the left above Bertha Camping grounds.
  10. Late penalty: Contestants arriving late at the check-in will be penalized 1 lb per minute late. Any contestant more than 10 minutes late will be disqualified, unless the team is broke down. Report to someone in the fishing tournament. We will come and get you and your fish. If you leave before the weigh-in, please let someone know.
  11. No fishing within 50 feet of another boat if anchored, must have trolling motor out of water.
  12. Penalty: Violation of any rules may result in suspension or disqualification from this and all future tournaments.
  13. Fishing and Conditions: Tournaments will be held regardless of weather conditions. However, the tournament officials may change the starting time or location as its deemed necessary for the safety of the contestants.
  14. Protests: All protests must be made within 5 minutes after weigh-in time.
  15. One time membership fee of $30 per year per person
  16. Club tournaments are $60 per boat at each tournament plus $10 big bass.
  17. Open tournaments are $70 per boat plus $10 big bass.
  18. All club tournaments are 80% payback.
  19. All open tournaments are 80% payback.
  20. Established teams: Partner changes may be allowed one time. The tournament committee will make the final decision. The person must join the club.
  21. Ties: In case of a total weight tie, big fish will break the tie. In case of a big bass tie, the team with the most total weight breaks the tie. 
  22. Pay for tournaments in advance if you are not able to fish. You have to pay $60.00. If tournament is on Sunday, you have to pay by Friday. If tournament is on Saturday, you have to pay by Thursday. This includes emergencies. Only 2 tournaments can be pre-paid for in 1 year. This can be paid to any committeeman. Emergencies only can be collected on Saturdays.
  23. Qualifying for the fishoff: If you qualify you must fish and weigh in your fish in order to receive payback. The only exception is an emergency.
  24. Life jacket and kill switch must be worn while the big motor is in operation.
  25. Flowers for a death are for immediate family only. This includes father, mother, children, husband, wife, sisters, brothers, grandparents, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and grandchildren.
  26.  If you fish a tournament you must weigh your own fish in to receive points and/or payback.
  27. Points System: If you start with a partner and something happens and you two do not fish together anymore, the points will be thrown out and you will start your points over if you continue to fish. Points will be determined by the best 8 out of 10 club tournaments fished. If there is a tie in points between two teams at the end of the year, the team with the biggest bass of the year will receive the highest starting position in the fish-off.
  28. If you fish 6 tournaments by yourself, you will get 100% of whatever place you place in at the Fish Off. If you start with a partner and separate before 6 tournaments are fished, but you finish fishing the club tournaments alone, you will receive 50% of whatever place you place in at the fish-off.
